The 22nd filipino - korean cultural festival gets bigger!

Pasay City, Philippines -- The 22nd Filipino - Korean Cultural gets bigger this year as they set the bar higher with the cultural exchange competitions.

Held last October 26, 2013 at the Aliw Theater in the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex, the 22nd Filipino - Korean Cultural Festival attracted Filipino and Koreans who are all excited to witness this year's festivities.

As early 9 in the morning, fans are already lining up outside the venue ready to cheer for their favorite groups in the competition. Tickets we're given away for free by the host of the annual event - United Korean Community Association in the Philipppines (UKCA) in cooperation with their partner organizations such as The Philippine KPOP Committee Inc. and Arirang Town Philippines.

The event kicked off with congratulatory messages from the UKCA President, Mr. Lee Jang Il, followed by The Republic of Korea's Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Mr. Lee Hyuk.

Traditional performances was then rendered by the Korean Catholic Church with an energetic Samulnori performance. Representing the Philippines was the La Pilipina Dance Troupe who showcased traditional Filipino fold dances.

The festival's climax was the performances of the Cultural Exchange Competitions. Filipinos performed Korean song and dance pieces, while Koreans performed Filipino song and dance pieces. Energetic and captivating are the two words that can describe this year's performances.

Special performances by Filipino singer Franchesca Farr was witnessed by the enthusiastic audiences, while 2012 Grand Winner Hybrid Crew performed again on the 'FilKor' stage one last time before the 2013 winners were announced.

In the end, the Korean group Manila Hanguk Academy Choir won the talent exchange competition with their rendition of classic Filipino children songs which captivated the judges as well as the audience. They took home the P50,000 Grand Prize and the opportunity to perform in official Korean Association events.

The United Korean Community Association in the Philippines is already gearing up for next year's festival and they are promising a bigger event in October 2014.
